A very disturbed man bit off a little more than he could chew when he was faced with the reality of his crimes. When the judge scanned over the evidence and learned the graphic details of the crime, he was quick to come to his decision. The truth was hard for this guilty child rapist to hear.
Eric Devin Masters is a disgusting man with an abominable habit. As demonstrated by his most recent arrest, the pervert is apparently incapable of controlling his sexual urges around young children. In fact, he most recently tied a toddler to a bed and raped her in the same hotel where he assaulted his own child back in 2012.
Amid his trial, Kent County Circuit Court Judge Mark Trusock didn’t hold any punches while addressing the monster:
“This incident is one of the most egregious things that I’ve ever had to deal with in dealing with criminal cases for 31 years. You are truly an evil individual, and we need to make sure that you are never allowed in society.”
As one would imagine, the victim’s family had a few things to say. In fact, they outright begged the judge to ensure Masters would never get out of prison after what he did to their little girl:
“This man has given my daughter a life sentence that she will never forget. My daughter is the strongest little girl I know and sometimes I look at her and wonder how she does it. I beg you, your Honor, don’t let him get out. He doesn’t deserve to be in the outside world.”
Reading from a prepared statement, Masters then tried to play the part of a reformed pedophile and deeply repentant human being that simply made a mistake:
“Something horrible was done to me and numbed my emotions to others. And then I committed the same horrible thing to others. With God’s help we can both be healed. God is my refuge and salvation and through Him I can be redeemed from these tragedies. I’m sorry for committing this horrible crime.”
Too bad for him, Judge Trusock wasn’t about to be manipulated and even gave Masters an earful regarding his pathetic attempt:
“You took an 18-month-old little girl, an innocent little girl, to a motel with the specific intent, with a camera, with straps. You stripped this little girl down, you tied her arms and legs to the bedposts. You proceeded to rape this child. And when you were done, you urinated on this child. I can’t imagine a human being doing that. There is just no justification, there is just no excuse for this.”
And that’s when the judge dropped the hammer:
“I want to send a clear message to the Parole Board that when you are first considered for parole, and that won’t be until you’re 79 years old, that I don’t want you out. We’re done. Take him to prison.”
OUCH! That hurts! It is comforting to know there are judges who don’t have soft hearts for criminals! This is one instance where the justice system deserves a round of applause!
