Life is a process. As busy women in America, it is way too easy to get caught up in the unrealistic expectations that seem to be put on us from EVERYWHERE.
Successful career, successful marriage, well-behaved kids, clean house, be fit and fabulous, financial security, great cook and stay sexy through it all. That’s A LOT for anyone and too often, if we find ourselves not meeting these impossible expectations, we tend to interpret that to mean that we are big fat failures.
I am here to tell you today, that could not be further from the truth!
It’s not to say to have all that is impossible, but to have it all the time and all at once, IS.
Life is all about process. In our “Amazon Prime 2 hour shipping” culture, the idea of anything taking time is absolutely foreign.
But it’s time we give ourselves a break and realize that the mere fact that you get up every morning is victory! The biggest identifier of success isn’t money, good kids or a great body. It’s PEACE OF MIND, because without that, what good is anything else?
Every obstacle you face will either grow you or stop you. Believe it or not, the only determining factor of that is what you choose it to be.
It’s time we quit being victims of our own minds and start owning every good thing that we do contribute to the world around us. Our encouraging words, prayers for friends and family, our ability to put out fires around us… they all literally change the atmosphere around us and they are in the moment is exactly where you are supposed to be.
It’s important to have dreams and goals…we all should, but remember, to see them manifest is a process…one step at a time. There will be days you knock it out of the ballpark, and others, not so much. But there’s an amazing Grace in this thing called tomorrow- it’s a clean slate with a whole new set of mercies waiting for you.
So go ahead and embrace the space you are in, take it one day at a time and know that there is some amazing stuff waiting for you on the other side of the chaos. Be nice to yourself and just watch and see what a difference it makes!
Is it growing you or stopping you? The choice is yours!
